Peter Salt-Berrymen Lic, Ac. M.B.Ac.C has many years experience in complementary health, and is a founder member of the British Acupuncture Council (the governing body of traditional acupuncturists in the U.K.). The British Acupuncture Council is the UK’s largest professional body for the practice of acupuncture.
Peter started working in complementary health in 1988, practising reflexology and went on to study and practise Shiatsu (a Japanese massage technique), Tui Na (a Chinese massage technique), and Swedish and sports massage.
Peter began studies in Acupuncture in 1993 at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading, continuing his studies he took post graduate courses in Chinese Patent Herbal Medicine and Advanced Chinese Patent Herbal Medicine, Musculo skeletal disorders, I.V.F. and Fertility, Facial Rejuvenation, Auricular Acupuncture, amongst others.
In addition Peter has also studied the western subjects of Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology.
Peter went on to study and practise Tai Chi and Chi Gong since 1991 and leads classes in S.E. London.
Peter is a practical skills tutor at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine, teaching students how to find Acupuncture points and channels, how to do traditional Chinese Pulse and Tongue diagnosis, and Structural Diagnosis and Anatomy.
Peter believes in working alongside western medicine rather than being separate from it, and will always work with other health professionals or recommend others if it is in his patients best interest.
